3Q20
We would climb trees
she and I
we would put up blankets in the branches in hide
we would see birds in their nests
and thought we should make one too but
humans aren't very good at being birds
if we fell from the tree we didn't cry
it look five seconds to get back up and try again
we could go to the top in the winter or spring
depending on how many flowers were blooming
and making us sneeze

3Q19
it used to be within me to smile with ease
I used to be able to find pleasure in things
it's a loss like no other
not a father or a brother
but a piece of me that makes me whole
I am not a complete person
I'm just a fragment of what I used to be
I used to be happy and now happy is just another word to me

he doesn't sit in his chair right
his legs are crossed ways we didn't know they could cross
his smile is so crooked that when he smiles
you don't know if he's frowning or smiling
he's interesting
he likes dinosaurs and says he likes concrete
he also enjoys watching chefs make mac and cheese specifically

white and black swirl together
I place one object, no, two on the white counter
their dark grays and blacks pop out at you
it's like my bed with it's black and white covers
the black and white pillows and the occasional stuffed animal
that's a brighter color

3Q15
the funny noise someone makes when they sneeze
the weird quirks people show in specific situations
like
they hate the color green
or they think that desks are the smartest idea to ever exist
other than iced coffee
when people think they can rap
the fact my english teacher thinks I'm actually going to do work for his class
ah
that makes me laugh

He said harry potter is a fake
and I said screw you!
and then I threw something at him
and then someone else stuck up for him
so i decided the best course of action would be to yell
very loud
as loud as I could
I almost won too I could've but
some people just really don't like him
and I don't know why
and I said screw you!

3Q10
powerful and vast and unknown
it's unexplored yet we act like we know what's going on
but the space is occupied by stars and colors that we wish we could indulge in
galaxies that come together like lost pieces of chipped nail polish
they swirl like soap in the unwashed dishes in your sink
the stars hang from the sky on strings and if you're lucky you'll see one snap

she sat and ate the pumpkin pie
assuming that she wouldn't get large
she had no idea how much she ate
but she looked at her stomach and saw one big arch
falling round over her waist.
The pie! She screamed The pie she raged while tossing her plate
into the piles and piles of discarded fruit and crust
she tried to stand up and get out of that pie infected place
but instead she fell flat with a bang and with it came the pain
of all the weight she had gained by eating that damn pumpkin pie
assuming that she wouldn't get large
she had no idea how much she ate

- I couldn’t have known what I’d feel from that day onI was entering an abyss I had never contemplatedBeginning I thought this could be funWho knew I’d fall and end in a painful blowYour eyes said begin but mine said nothing in returnI understand the frustration you must have felt with nothing to receiveonly to give and I suppose now it’s my turnDid you stop loving? Or did you never have love to conceive?

3Q5
The woman confronts me, she's thin but quick
to knock on my door and ask for answers
about the last man who was suffocated by something or someone slick
enough to cover their tracks with out laying any hands on them.
Although one connection led to me standing in my doorway
she readied her fists as if she knew I wanted to take her life too
but she didn't interest me for she was a kind woman
and the men I had slain were criminals crooks and there's no problem
taking their lives away.

3Q4
The cursed old man yelled profane words to the boys
who played too loud in their yards
they weren't scared of the man who threatened to trouble them
they were able bodied and running wasn't hard
Afflicted with bones of sticks and skin of paper the man could do nothing
but grieve his old silent mornings like he used to before
The boys stopped playing when the man's sticks had broken and paper torn
for they had no one to trouble just someone to mourn
they wished that man had not said his execrations as his last heard words
the man was still there and he began to plan his return
on the boys who ruined his quiet mornings as they did so many times before.
